Tip: Reduce the value of your lossmail

Munition delivery, sadly, is ISK-neutral at best, and I’m not best, so… I have to find ways to earn some ISK. Usually, I choose exploration, because it doubles as scouting for potential delivery targets, or combat exploration in a PvP ship, because it doubles as bait for pirates.

I make it a habit to stash my loot frequently, so that I can (hopefully) sneak back in and pick it up if I’m blown up

There are a couple of options for stashing loot in space, each with their own pros and cons.

  • Jet Can
    • Volume in Ship: 0 m3
    • Capacity: 27000 m3
    • Life: ~2 hrs
    • Cannot be probed down
  • Cargo Containers
    • Volume in Ship: 100-3000 m3
    • Capacity: 120-3900 m3
    • Life: ~2 hrs if un-anchored, 30 days since last access if anchored
    • Can only be anchored in 0.8 Security space and below.
  • Mobile Tractor Unit
    • Volume in Ship: 100 m3
    • Capacity: 27000 m3
    • Life: 2 days
    • Can be deployed in any system
    • Can be scanned down and destroyed immediately (50k HP)
  • Mobile Depot
    • Volume in Ship: 50m3
    • Capacity: 3000 m3
    • Life: 30 days since last access
    • Can be deployed in any system
    • Can be scanned down with combat probes and destroyed (17.5k HP), but has a 2 day reinforcement timer at 25% shield.

I typically choose to simply jettison my loot in J-Space, since a Mobile Depot in a wormhole is an invitation to death, and sometimes use a Mobile Depot in K-Space. I’ll warp to an out-of-alignment “safe” spot after each site, then jettison or store my cargo while I do other sites. Each time I return, I’ll scoop the contents and re-jettison, to re-set the timer.

  1. Take a small, secure container. You can anchor it and it remains in space for 30 days, this resets when you open it. Secure containers cant be scanned down and if you name it something dumb, people think you are using it to send a d-scan message rather than as a stash. Mine are generally called “Corbexx for CSM”. Replace “Corbexx” with some other random nerd name.
